Starting a JEWEL Program

The JEWEL program is designed for young women of color from 6th to 9th grades. As women we recognize that this is a very special time in their lives - not a little girl anymore, but not nearly a woman – and even still, their issues are real, their challenges are real and their voice is important. We also recognize that often times our children have the raw materials they need to navigate the sometimes rocky road through their teen years and beyond, they just lack a road map to create their own path.

Just Be Inc, through the JEWEL program, wants to help young women find their voice, define their purpose and prepare themselves – physically, socially, emotionally, intellectually, and culturally for passage into womanhood.

The first phase of the program is designed to leave the participants with basic tools. Our goal is not to teach girls how to be women, just to serve as a guide in their journey to finding their voice and understanding their importance in the world. The seeds that are planted in this time, with grace, will take root, grow and blossom, as these young ladies become women in the world.
